File Description
Think scoreboards, stock exchange, Vegas, even fastfood joints. What do you think they have in common? Yes, LED panels. You can join the club as well by creating your very own LED panel for your room. The key to making this one work is with a nutty program called Ethernut
At the beginning, the developer encountered problems with noise, overheating and some transfer interruptions from the processor to the LED modules, which if you're going to give this project a shot, you'll probably encounter too.
Ethernut took care of the heating problem by introducing an emergency shut down capability if the LED gets too hot. The data communication was the most difficult to tackle. he built a completely new driver plate and had to do some software tweaking.
He provided a small test routine for those interested, along with downloads of LED matrix of plans in the Eagle format and LED matrix programn inclusive of sources for the Ethernut.
The site didn't actually provide any kind of step by step information on how to go about building it, but the pictures sure are pretty.
