Developer Shawn.Chain has recently released weisms, a homebrew that functions as a native SMS application for your choice Apple phone. Here are weisms' current features - the last three were recently added as Christmas specials:

* Search your message
* Forwarding received message
* Delete message one by one
* Send message to multi-recipients
* Send contact information via SMS
* Support smilies in Message
* User could create pre-defined texts and append them into message
* i18n support
* Display unread messages in springboard
* Suspend to background instead of quit if Home button is pressed
* Support long sms perfectly
