Homebrew coder M@x has just released a new application to be used on the Sony PlayStation Portable called pspME. This is actually a SUN open source JavaME implementation of the program phoneME.
For those not familiar with the original app phoneME, the project was started to expand the use of Java ME platform technology on mobile phones. M@x said the following about version 0.1 of the PSP port:
The goal of pspME is porting phoneME to Sony PSP game console. As the first step, my goal is a phoneMEFeature PSP implementation, which can enable user to run JavaME application on CLDC.
The coder added as well that in the future, he is planning as well to port phoneMEAdvanced to the Sony handheld.But in the meantime, here are the complete features of the current build:
* An initiative porting of MIDP and CLDC * Java AMS with MVM supporting * Several input methods: QWERTY/Abc/Symbol/... * Install application from local JAR file
