File Description
Description : This is an updated version of WoW Model Viewer which was at http://wowmapview.sourceforge.net/wowmodelview/ (No Longer Available).
WoW Model Viewer is a 3D model viewer for World of Warcraft®. It uses the data files included with the game to display the models from the game: creatures, characters, spell effects, doodads, items, etc. You can dress up and customise the character models or just view NPC models.
--- ** MISING ITEMS ** If you are missing items, Please ensure that "Use Patch" is enabled under Options. Once its enabled reload the program. ---
The latest version: 0.47 Program Size: 1.37MB download, 3.4MB uncompressed.
To install: Extract the contents of the ZIP archive (keeping the relative file paths) into a Folder ie. C:/WoW Model Viewer/ You can use WinZip, Power Archive, PKZip or any other utility you prefer to extract.
--- CAUTION: If you have a P4 with HyperThreading and an NVidia graphics card, you may have to upgrade your drivers to 81.98, the current WHQL version. Otherwise you may have problems with instability and the program crashing when trying to load models.
PLEASE NOTE: This is not an Addon and should not be installed as such. This program is in NO WAY able to change your "in-game" models. WoW Model Viewer does NOT circumvent any security or protection measures, nor does it grant "unauthorised access" to any part of the World of Warcraft® client. Any release with "Source" in its name is intended to only be downloaded by fellow enthusiast programmers. Changes : Changes from 0.46b to 0.47: -------------- * Added Deutsch translations thanks to Die_Backe! * Added "Weapons Enchants" which can now be applied to weapons. * Added support for loading Language Packs. * Added support for loading Sky Boxes. * Added missing FelBeast and Gryphon skins. * Added support for equiping creatures with weapons. - Can NOT currently enchant creature equipped weapons. * Background images are now saved and loaded between sessions. * Improved the "Key Input" handling for the Canvas. * Fixed not being able to load item Sets or Start equipment just after loading a character file. * Fixed a bug that prevented the "View Panel" from displaying. * Modified the animation handler to potentially support more than 1 object in the distant future. - This change was needed for skyboxes to be able to animate independently. * "Model Camera" is now disabled if the model does not have any embedded camera data with the model. - All creature models have a "close up" camera, (potentially for the model portraits for the interface - WhoooMan) * Added 'Legal Notice' to the About Frame. * Modified "BakedNPCs" so they can be interacted in a similar way to Character models. - Some things like Hair / Facial features / Tabards, etc can not be changed. - BakedNPC 'clothes' for the most part, are part of their "skin". * Modified the event handler for when gif animations are being created. - This should increase in stability on slower machines. - Please note that browsing to the "Desktop" in the file dialogs seems to sometimes cause issues. * Tweaked the particle system some, hopefully for the better.
=============================== WoW Model Viewer Known Bug List ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - All Particle systems need fixing, possible sollution is to re-write them from scratch. - "Skull and Balls" enchant when added to a weapon changes the colour of all particles. - Alpha Blending (Turkey, and the new transparent dragon for example), is incorrect. - Gif Exporter does NOT currently work with WMO's - doing so will cause program to crash. - Alpha Layer in PNG screenshots needs correcting, alpha layer overwrites the existing RGB values.
Dependencies notes : WoW Model Viewer uses OpenGL, not DirectX.
