File Description
There are several situations where we just can't get to our PC to change the song iTunes is currently playing (although the only reason that comes to mind right now is being lazy). Here's a great app in case you find yourself in one of those situations.
iRemote is a new homebrew application from developer wahkiz (author of iDope). iRemote allows your iPhone to control iTunes from your iPhone (lotsa i's there), in case you can't get to your PC. Great app if you want to DJ your own parties and still walk around.
The program is still in its beta stage so users are advised to be careful when installing the application. With that in mind, let's move on to how you use the app. First of all, you need a WiFi router. Then download the file at the end of the page, and do the following:
1. Unzip everything 2. Transfer iRemote to your iphone via ssh, 775 it. 3. Open the other iremote software packaged in the zip on your PC. 4. Press "Start" 5. On the left you can see TASKS, and FILENAME. You can ignore tasks for now, just add in any file (full path) you want to launch into the FILENAME textbox, press Add. 6. This will be sequential. In your iphone you will have 5 options to launch. the first file you insert will be the first option. 7. To know your computer's IP address, go start > Run , type "CMD' and type ipconfig. 8. On your iphone, launch iRemote. type in the computer's ip address. then press return. 9. If everything works well, a welcome sign will be shown. and 5 options are there for you to select.
Some users have noted that the program doesn't work. Wahkiz suggests downloading the appropriate OCX from here, and use it together with iRemote. Also be sure that your iPhone and your PC are on the same wireless network.
Right now the program isn't "polished" yet, as wahkiz describes it, but we're looking forward to the program's next release. Wahkiz remarked that the next version will come with a file browser.
