File Description
Developer Ciaran Anscomb has recently announced the release of XRoar v0.20 for the DS. This homebrew application will enable users to run games originally meant for the Tandy Color Computer.
XRoar has also been released for PCs running on Mac OS X, Window32, and GP32, though this update will be focusing on the port for the Nintendo handheld.
The developer notes that version 0.20 carries interface for input configuration and snapshot saving. The XRoar's DS port now carries DLDI patching support, although its sound quality still tends to be scratchy. Here are the rest of XRoar's latest changes (Quoting the readme):
* Don't show artifacted colours for CSS=0. * Better emulation of undocumented 6809 behaviour. * New joystick axis and button mapping options. * Add GTK+-2 file requester. * Mid-instruction peripheral state sync. * Restructure CPU core to more accurately reflect data sheet. * PIA code not so intimately tied to emulator code. * New 5-bit NTSC cross-colour renderer. * NTSC cross-colour phase saved with snapshots.
This download is meant for the DS' slot 1 card. XRoar v0.20's readme is accessible over at Ciaran's site via the source link - be sure to head there before attempting to run this application.
