QJ Staff ******************************************************** With the release of Apple new software update, jailbreaking one's iPhone has been one of the biggest priorities to date. Two popular "flavors" have been recently released to unshackle your preferred Apple gadgets - PwnageTool for Mac-based systems and WinPwn for the Windows platform.
Developer cmw released a new update to WinPwn, bumping up its version number to 2.0.0.3. The new build mainly takes care of numerous bugs noted in previous versions of the jailbreaking application.
Here are the specifics to the various fixes which WinPwn 2.0.0.3 addresses:
- Cydia/XP/Writing root FS bug.
- Failed to remove ipsw directory after a ipswBuild failure.
- iPwner now only accepts custom ipsws.
- Remove 345 ipsw support. WinPwn only supports 347 2.0 ipsw's.
- Various other fixes.
In addition, the developer also plans to add several new features in future versions to help improve the app's performance. Make sure to look out for stuff like a new partition resizer, an auto updater, and a DFU wizard function in next release.
Windows XP and Vista users who happen to own an iPhone should make it a point to update to the latest version WinPwn. For detailed instructions on how to properly install WinPwn, don't forget to check out the How-To guide on using the app at the developer's source site.
