File Description
Florian Bertaux, better known as lefbe here on QJ.NET, has published the first release of a new line of Eden Software's Unlimited Video: Unlimited Video for iPod and iPhone. The initial version already boasts a wealth of features you would normally find on Unlimited Video for PsP, but perfectly fitted for compatibility and efficient playback on Apple's portable platforms.
Video encoding can be accomplished in resolutions 480x228 or 640x304, depending on your current platform. What stays consistenf for now is the 1 MBps video streaming bitrate and the 192 kbps (unspecified sampling rate) audio streaming bitrate support. Unlimited Video for iPod and iPhone, since February 2, 2008, supports the following formats as source videos:
* .m2v * .flv * .divx * .mkv * .mov * .HDmov * .wmv * .HDwmv * .mp4 * .avi * .mpeg * .mpg * .vob
These videos will then be re-encoded into Apple-friendly format, depending on your platform. Take note that this is a Windows-based software, despite its target platform, and you will need to operate it in a compatible environment, either through virtual machine emulation or a decdicated Windows machine.
