File Description
Developer Dark AleX has announced the release of version 2 of his PspStates homebrew plugin for the PSP Slim.

In case you weren't around during our earlier report, this homebrew plugin will enable you to create savestates while playing games on your handheld. As for the changes that are impleneted with this new build (quoting the readme):

* Fixed important bug in inter-thread code (semaphore wasn't waiting due to interrupts disabled), that caused the load state to not be completely read in some cases. This caused black screen after state load (unless you just saved that state, in this case state was still in ram), or even worse, game not working properly due to partial load.
* Added states per game basis. The controls are slightly different: old controls now do a local savestate/loadstate of the game, while pressing additionally select button will save/load a global state. See instructions for more info.
* Fixed bug that caused normal sleep mode waking up inmediately.
* UMD discs and isos in normal UMD mode are now supported. However, they require to nullify umdcache, by flashing one file, read the instructions below.

We remind the readers that PspStates is still experimental and may cause data loss or other damage to your PSP. You will want to back up your nand and memory stick data if you're serious about giving this homebrew a try. You will also need a PSP Slim running on on custom firmware 4.01.

You will also need a good Memory stick as a fake stick will cause extremely slow savetates and loadstates. Lastly, we advise all users to view the file bundle's readme before attempting to run PspStates even if they've read the one for the previous release, as Dark AleX made some changes for the readme in version 2. Those interested in contacting the author to make bug reports or otherwise will want to visit the source link below.
