File Description
Thanks to numerous contributions from other PSP homebrew developers, developer zx81 has stepped out with PSPIRC v1.0.6, an update to PSPIRC v1.0.5. This program will let you connect to Internet Relay Chat servers and chat while on your PlayStation Portable. It's got support for the Sprint PCS IR keyboard, and if you don't have one, it'll let you settle for the old-fashioned on-screen keyboard input.
The application, coded with Danzel's IRC engine, was combined with zx81's UI for PSPSSH. IR keyboard support was added after referencing Harald Fielker's PSP IR Keyboard Library, and tested with a Targus Universal IR Wireless keyboard. So far only two versions are out: one for firmware 1.50 and another for 3.40 OE CFWs. Additions to v1.0.6 include:
* Add all iso8859-1 characters in danzeff virtual keyboard * All text fonts are now compatible with iso8859-1 characters * Bug fix in IR keyboard .ini files with UTF8 specification * (for example mapping string such as "u+c3a0" didn't work properly) * New Targus [keyboard] mapping with French characters mapped from ALT 1 up to ALT -
We've provided both versions below, as presented in the homebrew author's blog. With it comes an archive which holds PSPIRC's source code. In order to install either version of the application, you will have to refer to the included readme texts for instructions.
