QJ Staff ******************************************************** First off, we're reminding the guys that this year's PSP-Hacks Coding Competition ended last Saturday, May 31. While the judges are still sorting the event's winners, we'll be taking a look at the finalized builds of some of the contest entries, such as the one PirataNervo recently churned out for NervOS.
As a recap, this homebrew is actually a shell application for your PSP. One major feature that's been added in this build is a Scripting System. PirataNervo added this function to enable users with no programming knowledge to create their own games and programs. As for the rest of version 2.0.5's changelog (quoting PirataNervo's post):
* Added new icons to menu (main: Applications | sub: Calculator, Text Editor, Web Browser and USBHostFS) * Fixed 2 bugs in recovery menu. * Improved Calculator * Fixed memory issues * From now on, file browser displays ICON0.PNG when you are highlighting a PBP/CSO/ISO file * Removed NervOS Boot PBP and replaced by Main PBP. * Added Scripting System - this scripting system was made by me and it is still under creation, a lot of functions will be added on future releases and the parser will be improved.
The dev reminds the users that the new scripting system may contain bugs. We further remind the readers that this is the final NerOS build just for the coding competition, and not for the app itself.
Installation and usage instructions are available in the documentation folder in NervOS' download bundle. Those interested in posting their feedback or bug reports will want to visit PirataNervo's release thread over at the QJ.NET PSP Development Forum.
