Last July, a Homebrew contest for the best Rubik's Cube program was set by DevsGen. The prize for said contest is US$ 500. Here are the four entries from four French programmers. Please note that these programs do not come with a readme file so users are advised to use the apps with caution.
The second programmer to submit an entry was Alcantor. The program provides a basic menu and offers alternative modes of play with a 2x2, 4x4 and 5x5 cube. The program also offers an alternative visual interface, offering a "flat" cube instead of a 3D one.
The site describes the "flat" interface to be professional and good for commercial distribution.
