The developers from Epic games have rolled out a patch for the PC version of Gears of War. This new update fixes the Windows Live problems and some performance issues. The single and multiplayer aspects of the game remain unchanged though, so don't expect some new content with this patch.

Before downloading and installing the update, be advised that it is only compatible with the North American, South American, and Western European versions of Gears of War. This will not work with both the Russian and Eastern European versions of the game.

So if you're running a comaptible version of Gears of War, there's really no harm in updating it to the latest version. Hey, it won't even take up much of you time considering the patch is pretty small weighing in at 6 MB.
