Pipagerardo has released version 1 of his Asteroid Barrier homebrew game, and it certainly looks impressive enough. We did a bit of digging around to find out more about this game, and we've realized the game is a little bit like Pong with machine guns.

You see, the object of the game is to send as many objects as possible to the goal of your opponent. The screen's split in half, and the player basically has to keep on moving around and firing to hit the opponent's scoring quadrant till time runs out. The single player game has 10 levels, and there's also a multiplayer mode for you to try out.

Here are the instructions for operating the game in single player and two-player mode:

Single-player

* X: On gravitational field
* O: Shooting
* Select / Start: Pause
* Digital / Analog Pad: Player Movement

Two players

* L / R: Turn on Gravitational field
* Analog pad/ Start: Shooting
* Digital pad/ X, O, Triangle, Square: Movement

Please note that this game runs in Lua, so you'll need some sort of Lua-playing application to run this app. Furthermore, the readme isn't very helpful, so you'll have to be careful when installing this application.

We suggest you try these or some of the other homebrew games that have been made available as a result of the NeoFlash Spring Coding Competition. Just check out our homebrew games page for more. Enjoy this game!
