Just a few hours ago, we reported that the Apple iPhone's firmware update 1.1.4 was quietly released to the public.
This news was further bolstered by word that developer Zibri's ZiPhone app could jailbreak this new build, though the dev advised against such attempts for safety reasons.
That said, we're informing the readers that another jailbreak app with full support for fw 1.1.4 has been announced, dubbed iNdependence 1.4 beta 5. Aside from the jailbreak, this app will also provide its users with an interface for activation, SSH installation, and ringtone/wallpaper/application installation on your phone.
Here's the latest changelog:
* Added SIM unlocking on firmware 1.1.4 (using gunlock) * Changed the SIM unlock warning to reflect new information with regard to IPSF-based unlocking * Made it so that iNdependence automatically removes old versions of the RAM disks it creates * Changed the credits for the RAM disk jailbreak method * Updated the documentation for the new SSH removal dialog
Developer planetbeing further notes that iNdependence hasn't been tested on the iPod Touch, although there are reports that it may work.
